Part 2 of Gather & Graze: Enhancing Support for Children’s Behaviour

We recently hosted Part 2 of our Gather & Graze professional development series, featuring the insightful psychologist Marina Bailey. This event provided a wonderful opportunity for our team of educators, along with colleagues from local services, to come together and delve deeper into effective strategies for supporting children’s behaviour.

As educators, we know that understanding and addressing children’s behaviour is crucial for fostering a positive learning environment. Marina’s expertise guided us through various approaches and techniques to better support our young learners. The collaborative atmosphere encouraged open discussions, allowing educators to share their experiences and insights.

One of the key takeaways from the session was the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with children. Marina emphasised that understanding each child’s unique needs and triggers can significantly enhance our ability to support them effectively. We explored practical strategies, such as active listening, positive reinforcement, and creating a structured environment that fosters security and confidence.

The interactive nature of the session allowed educators to engage with the material actively. The exchange of ideas among educators from different services enriched the experience, as we all brought our unique perspectives to the table.

We left the session feeling inspired and equipped with new tools to implement in our own practices. The feedback from our team was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing excitement about the practical applications of what we learned. It’s clear that professional development events like these are vital in fostering continuous growth and collaboration among educators.

As we move forward, we are committed to integrating these insights into our daily interactions with children, ensuring that we provide the best possible support for their behaviour and development. Thank you to Marina Bailey and all the educators who participated in this enriching experience.
