This year, we wanted to honour our incredible educators in a way that truly reflects their importance in our community. To celebrate Educators Day, we combined the festivities with Superhero Week, because let’s face it—our educators are our real-life superheroes!
In the lead up to the event, we held a Children’s QIP meeting, where the children had the opportunity to share what they love most about their educators. This heartfelt sharing session was complemented by feedback from families, allowing everyone to express their gratitude and admiration. We used feedback from these sessions to help create our Educator High Five Awards! At our services, we have a High Five Award system that empowers children to recognise their peers for acts of kindness and to celebrate individual achievements. This initiative has become a beloved part of our daily routine, fostering a sense of community and appreciation among the children. It was only fitting that on Educators Day our educators received High Five Awards from the children and families in recognition of their remarkable work.
The day was filled with excitement, which included a delicious pizza lunch that brought everyone together. Following lunch, we had a fun-filled piñata activity that added an extra layer of joy to the celebration. The children’s enthusiasm was contagious as they took turns trying to break open the piñata, making it a memorable highlight of the day. Each educator was also presented with thoughtful gifts, which included personalised portraits drawn by the children, a bottle of wine tailored just for them, and gift cards. These tokens of appreciation not only celebrated their hard work but also highlighted the special bond they share with the children.
As we reflect on this wonderful day, we are filled with gratitude for our dedicated educators who inspire and nurture the next generation. Their passion and commitment make a lasting impact on the lives of our children, and it was an honour to celebrate them in such a joyful and meaningful way.
