Transitioning to school is a milestone filled with anticipation and decisions for both children and their families. Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting our Transition to School Information Evening, an event aimed at providing families with the knowledge and support they need as they embark on this important journey.
The evening was a resounding success, thanks to the participation of our dedicated team and the enthusiastic attendance of our families. Our Dyaramak Room Leader, Alex, played a pivotal role in sharing her deep understanding of our Preparation for School educational program. Her insights into the transition to school process and each child’s unique learning journey were incredibly valuable to all who attended.
We were also honoured to have Neisha join us, offering perspectives from her roles as a teacher, mother, and President of the P & C. Her firsthand experience added a personal touch to the discussions, resonating with many parents grappling with decisions about their child’s readiness for school.
A special mention goes to Kristy, Deputy Principal from a local public school and a remarkable parent from our SS community. Kristy’s presence on our panel provided invaluable insights into what schools look for when assessing school readiness. She generously shared resources and advice that will undoubtedly support our families throughout this process.
The feedback from our attendees has been overwhelmingly positive. Many families described the evening as “very informative” and “very helpful,” emphasising how much they appreciated the guidance provided. For those who couldn’t join us, an information pack was sent home, ensuring that everyone has access to the information shared.
Deciding whether your child is ready for school is a significant decision, and we understand the challenges involved. That’s why we encourage families who are still considering their options to reach out to our educators. We are here to support you through phone conversations or meetings, offering guidance and a listening ear as you navigate this journey.
Last but not least, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the children and our cook Effie for catering a delightful spread of ANZAC biscuits, cheese and vegemite twists, and muffins. Their efforts added a warm and welcoming touch to the evening, creating an atmosphere where families could connect and share their experiences.
As we reflect on our successful Transition to School Information Evening, we are reminded of the importance of community support and informed decision-making in preparing our children for their next chapter. We look forward to continuing this journey together, empowering each family to make the best choices for their child’s education and future.
